- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I was diagnosed with Shingles last week and put on Gabapentin. By Saturday evening the nerve pain had spread to my knee and was so debilitating I started to vomit frequently. I went back to the Hillman Clinic on Monday morning at 8:45 am. I had a great deal of difficulty walking into the clinic. I spoke to the receptionist, who immediately contacted one of the Doctor's nurse on "walk-in" call for the day. The nurse soon came out and very graciously said she would try and get Dr Hillman to see me as a walk-in patient. I was very very appreciative and made sure both the nurse and receptionist knee it. Note that both the clinic's website and the clinics brochures say in print that walk-ins for rashes are welcome, I was in so much pain I thought I would start vomiting again. At 11:50 Dr Hillman examined me (after I told him how much appreciated him seeing me). After prescribing a stronger dose of Gabapentin, he stated and I quote " you must think you're better than any one else to use the walk-in to be seen". Now I no longer know what to do at the Hillman Thunder Bay Clinic if I have a serious medical issue on ANY DAY I DON'T HAVE A SCHEDULED APPT. I guess, at least in Dr Hillman's opinion, the Thunder Bay Clinic doesn't really want any walk-ins, negating Hillman's Written Policy. Alpena Emer I guess instead?July 22, 2017by RICK Erb
